Softwood
Softwood is suitable for both contemporary and period-style homes. It is popular amongst those wanted timber on a limited budget. This wood can be stained but is usually painted. Douglas fir is very stable and durable softwood. Softwood windows require painting every few years.
Hardwood
Hardwood is a slower growing type of wood and therefore has a tighter grain than softwood making them more stable and durable. Oak is the most popular and is often used on traditional-style homes. Hardwood promises a longer lifespan than softwood.

The mock sash window is designed to replicate the aesthetics of the traditional sliding sash window.

It is a cheaper alternative and allows for installation into a much shallower facade than the traditional sliding sash frame would require.

  I came across Quality Seal when looking for new windows & doors for the front of our property & based on his positive reviews I decided to reach out to them.

Adam visited our property & listened to our requirements & happily gave suggestions of what can be done to make it better due to the age of our property. He was not pushy at all to sell, he was happy to help & give his advice. He is knowledgeable in his work & has knowledge of building regs which is an added bonus!

Adam kept in touch & communicated well for when the fitting would go ahead. Adam & his team exceeded our expectations as they arrived on time everyday, fitted the windows & doors perfectly & worked tirelessely & the installation is faultless. They left the work area for each room inc hallway clean & tidy.

I can see that Adam & the team take pride in their work & consider the attention to detail when fitting, and finishing off installation. We are really pleased with the work & will be calling Adam back when changing the windows & door to the rear of the property.

  Quality seal went above and beyond from the first point of contact with Adam right to the very end of completion.

We had new windows at the front and side of the house with a new composite door.

When Adam came to quote, he gave his advice and guidance on what's in and how installation will be carried out. Adam is very experienced and knowledgeable not only in windows/ doors but all aspects of trade.

Adam and the team carried out the fitment perfecty, the lads were polite and worked to perfection.

We had a couple of issues due to the age of property and how previous windows were fitted. However, Adam handled them really well and got cracking.

We are really pleased with the work and will be calling Adam back when changing the windows and door to the rear of the property.

  I found Quality Seal online and decided to call them to quote for a replacement conservatory/lean-to, and for new windows and doors. I chose them based on their good reviews on various sites and they certainly lived up to expectation.

When Adam came, at this point I'd had enough of the big suppliers, their pushy sales patter, and their lack of understanding of what I wanted.

Adam listened to my requirements and even came up with some suggestions of what could work better and had all the knowledge of building regs. etc., something the big companies didn't communicate. He was honest about the cost and timeframes.

Adam had been patient with my delays for several reasons on getting the job started but he was able to pick up where we left off and got the orders in.

The installation was started when expected and the quality of the windows and doors is excellent.  Although installation ran over I had no issues. It was well worth it and understandable. Very little was straightforward with our installation due to the age of the house and the previous windows being recessed out. I can see that Adam really cares about his work and considers the attention to detail when fitting, and finishing off installation.

Adam and his team are very polite and pleasant; the resident comedian Josh is hilarious.

We called Adam back for another job involving a new piece of glass with extractor fan and we had all our lintels boxed and releaded also.

3 words to sum up, reliable, honest and impeccable.

  Adam was thoroughly professional throughout, fitting us in at late notice, 2 days before our baby was born. We don’t know what we’d have done if Adam hadn’t have been able to fit us 2 new velux windows. Adam left the room absolutely spotless after finishing the job. Would definitely recommend a professional, tidy, master craftsman
